A caution was called with about 10 minutes left in the race which bunched the cars back up. The Level 5 Ferrari and Flying Lizards R8 were in the battle for the GTD lead when the R8 had an off. Avoidable contact was called on the Level 5 guys when no contact was shown on replay. Level 5 got a time penalty which gave the GTD win to the Lizards.

Whethertech Porsche went into the wall around the first horseshoe with about 15 minutes left to go but was able to extricate itself. NASCAR then arbitrarily threw a caution because reasons. The cars packed up for the last 9 minutes of green flag racing. The Level 5 Ferrari was defending it's lead around the infield road course from one of the Flying Lizard Audis. Things got a little hectic and the Audi went off course trying to make a pass that was never going to happen. The Level 5 Ferrari got a time penalty post-race for "avoidable contact" despite the fact that the two cars never contacted each other.
